The inspiration came from the desire to share a discovered paradise with other people. The privilege of a farm on the beach front, the remote location is what makes it so special and exclusive. The project highlights comfort and simplicity in the most perfect harmony with such exuberant nature which has been preserved so well..

Apart from a paradisiacal and exclusive beach, the Sao Fransisco do Corumbau Farm has only 10 rooms, and offers total privacy, an exclusive infrastructure, impeccable service and a restaurant run by Chef Teco, who perfectly mixes the flavours of Bahia with the most refined international cooking making use of the fresh fish and sea food fished in Corumbau, as well as the products harvested in our organic vegetable garden. A vegan, lactose intolerant and celeriac intolerant menu has also been developed in partnership with Chef Patricia Hellu.

The most sought-after outing is snorkelling in the Itacolomi corals which are only half and hours’ boat ride away. It is possible to dive among the coral reefs and admire the rich local marine fauna. Another recommended activity is to visit the Caraiva village. The outing begins with a canoe crossing of the Rio Corumbau, upon arriving at the other side guests are received by a Pataxó Indian who takes them for a buggy ride through the indigenous village and then on to the local shops with artisanal craft work and the spring of the beautiful Caraíva river. As well as these outings, the hotel also organizes boat visits to the Praia do Espelho - voted many times as one of the most beautiful in Brazil -, the famous Trancoso beach, the Barra do Cahy, where history says Cabral’s squadron first set foot on Brazilian soil, and to the Corumbau River to admire the sunset.

After an amazing breakfast offered by the hotel, I suggest, tide permitting, a boat trip to snorkel in the natural pools formed by the corals 5km from the beach. Another unmissable option is the ascent of the Corumbau River which can be done in a kayak. This outing is a great option for the end of the afternoon. Swimming in the totally preserved mangroves, where the fauna and flora remain untouched, enjoying the unforgettable sunset among the silence and peace of the Corumbau River. Another great option is to do nothing at all, date, read a good book, eat and sleep very well, all this in a lot of comfort and privacy!
